Heritage & History
Security and defence played a central role in the overall framework of society in the 1900s. It is therefore important from a cultural historical perspective that the National Museums of Military History - now that the Swedish total defence organisation is being reformed, reduced in size and in part disappearing completely - conducts a systematic review to preserve the memory of the culture of those times for future generations.
The National Museums of Military History has been charged by the Swedish Government to carry out this task. To provide the historical backdrop for this undertaking the following is an attempt to summarise how Sweden adjusted her political approach to the events of the Cold War. Read more!
