Teleseum
Enköping
This is a defence heritage telecommunications museum that will display command and control systems and equipment used by the various elements of the Total Defence organisation, ranging from national control at War Cabinet level and the Per-Albin bus right down to unit level communications. The museum’s displays will come from the Army, Navy and Air Force telecommunications equipment collection of the Military Telecommunications Heritage organisation. In addition exhibitions illustrating “Women in Defence” and the operations of the Swedish Internationel forces will also feature. The majority of the collections from the former Uppland Regiment (I8), the Göta Life Guards (P1) and the Signal Regiment (S1), which are currently held by the HQ & Signals Regiment, will also be transferred to the new museum, which will open for the general public in 2011.
The museum will assume the overall responsibility for preserving the historical traditions of the Swedish Signals Corps.
The museum will also retain a number of working vehicles for display purposes.
