The Mobile Coastal Artillery Museum

Karlskrona

At the island Aspö outside Karlskrona there are a large number of coastal fortifications, including Drottningskär, Jutuddens Battery, Ellenabbens Fort and New Ellenabben, all designed to protect the approaches to Sweden’s most important naval base. Alongside the Aspö Gun Battery there is a museum that houses the Naval Museum’s collection of mobile coastal artillery guns, which are on public display and managed by a museum association. The museum’s display includes guns, missiles, air defence weapons, and fire direction and communications equipment. There is also a room dedicated to history of the now disbanded Karlskrona (KA2) Coastal Artillery Regiment.
